Our History

Picture
Read the history of St Mary's and it's place in the Maitland Parish in Living Stones by Marilyn Foster. Written to celebrate 125 years of continuous worship on the site between 1878 and 2003, Living Stones provides details of every aspect of the Church Building.

Cost of Living Stones is $10.00 plus $9.50 post and packing. To order your copy, visit Contact Us

After the book was written, Anglican Church history was made with:

Diocese of Newcastle 50th Synod

Synod is the gathering of the clergy and lay representatives of the Diocese with the Bishop to make decisions about our corporate life in Christ. We begin each Synod session by coming together as the Body of Christ in a celebration of the Eucharist; the business meetings which follow are an extension of the Eucharistic gathering.    The Diocese made history for its 50th Synod by meeting in Mailtand with the Eucharist being celebrated in St Mary's.
