‘St Paul’s in the Park’ as it is affectionately called by the locals, was designed by architect William White. Built of sandstock brick in cruciform style with wide Aisles and large Transepts, it was dedicated for service in 1858. The porches at the western and northern doors were added in 1885 and the attractive Lychgate in 1919. The Bell Tower was erected in 1888 as a separate building with plans to link the Tower and Church at a later date, thus lengthening the Chancel by approximately twenty feet.

Bellringing

St Paul’s is perhaps best known for its bellringing. The first peal was rung on Easter Monday in 1898 and the bells have continued to peal on many a great occasion ever since. A dedicated team ring the bells each Saturday before evening service when they are quite often joined by visiting teams from Sydney and beyond.
